Dear Mr. Steve Jobs,
I’m trying. I really am. But you’re not making life easy for me. You want me to swap and I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt, but its hard! I’m not going to swap my main PC for a Mac just yet, but switching a laptop could be a nice compromise if it weren’t for the wall you’ve put up.
I have a PCMCIA wireless network card and I could put it into any XP machine to get working, but a Powerbook G4? Oh no! I have to find a driver which I have to run every time I start the laptop up and put in a password. Just because you want me to buy your wireless device and wireless router.
Oh and whilst I watch a 50+ year old Russian pull a Union Jack handkerchief whilst singing about a Toreador, this has crashed 3 times. I only installed 10.4.3 yesterday.
Not going well. Not going well at all.
(For those that do not know, Steve Jobs is the Bill Gates of the Mac world. If you don’t know who Bill Gates is please shut down the computer and back away from the keyboard).
EDIT:
I take it back… Partly. Airport sees standard wirless networks. Doesn’t mean standard wireless cards shouldn’t work though!
